Obituary for David Pethel
David Matthew Pethel, a life-long resident of Annapolis, MD died on Saturday, April 15, 2017. He was 51.
Known to family and friends as Matt, he was born on July 8, 1965, in Baltimore, MD. Matt graduated from Broadneck High School in 1984. He was employed as a carpenter with Pethel and Associates and Fargher Development Corporation, where he engaged in premier home construction. Matt was exceptionally skilled in cabinetry, stair work, and moldings. He attended the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Annapolis and was active in its Bible studies. Matt had many hobbies that included ice hockey, motor biking, boating, fishing, crabbing, NASCAR, football, traveling. He always loved spending time with family and friends.
Matt was preceded in death by his father, Frank Colby Pethel.
He is survived by a son, Keith Colby Pethel of Annapolis, MD; his mother, Betty Pethel of Annapolis, MD; a sister, Michele Pethel Cottrill of Annapolis, MD; a nephew, Ben Cottrill; a niece, Elizabeth Cottrill; former wife, April Walker; and step daughter, Macy Walker.
A memorial service will be held at Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Annapolis, 710 Ridgely Avenue, Annapolis, MD on Tuesday, May 2 at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Annapolis Building Fund.
