Life Story for Michael Salley
Michael Danville “Mike” Salley, 63, a 36-year resident of Edgewater and previously of Laurel, MD, passed away suddenly on May 10, 2017 following a massive stroke. Born on July 2, 1953 in Ft. Belvoir, VA to Eleanor and the late Clifford Salley, Mike was a graduate of Laurel High School. He made his career as a book binder, working for Oakcrest Printing Company and Advantage Book Binding. A sports enthusiast, Mike was a member and vice president of the Edgewater Athletic Club where he coached numerous youth sports and served as commissioner of soccer. Mike was also an avid reader. He volunteered at the Edgewater Public Library and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. In his spare time, Mike enjoyed online gaming; but most of all, loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his mother, Mike is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Pat Salley; two daughters, Jessica Francis (Andre) Caldwell of Brandywine, MD and Beth (Robert Jr.) Redmond of Pasadena, MD; one granddaughter, Mykenzie Francis of Edgewater; and four brothers, Gary Coe of Granville, OH, and Bruce Coe, Skeeter Coe and Mark Salley all of Pataskala, OH.
Friends are invited to celebrate Mike’s life with his family from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. Burial will be private.
