Life Story for Mary Cecelia Benton
Cecelia M. (Buckler) Benton, a long- time resident of the Forest Heights area, passed away peacefully Friday the 7th of July at Ballenger Creek Center in Frederick, MD.
Cecelia was born on April 10, 1921 to Thomas Harry Buckler, Sr. and Bertie Mae Copsey in Oraville, Maryland.
Cecelia loved being a free sprint, visiting with family/friends and spoiling her many nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed being a landlord, travelling, playing games of chance, dancing and reading. She prized her home on Sachem Drive with its gorgeous Cherry tree and tulips.
Relatives and friends are invited to Cecelia's Celebration of Life on Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 11 a.m. until time of service at 12 noon at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery.
She was the sister of Gwynn and Dorothy Buckler, Elizabeth and Joe Novak, Lawrence and Isabelle Buckler, Louise and John Bohle, Thomas Harry and Ester Buckler, Elmer and Chloe Buckler and John Edward and Madaline Buckler; all of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her companion Preston “Peach” Benton. She is survived by her brother Frank Buckler and his wife Doris and many loving nieces and nephews.
