homas Irvin Dillon Jr, 76, of Edgewater, MD, beloved husband of Hazel Dillon, completed his journey in life surrounded by his family on April 23, 2024, after a courageous battle with Leukemia. Tom was born August 14, 1947, in Roanoke, VA, to Edna Vreda and Thomas Irvin Dillon Sr. On June 2, 1972, Tom met the love of his life, Hazel Dillon, and they were married on June 22, 1972 (yes, just barely three weeks after meeting for the first time). Tom and Hazel had a one-of-a-kind love that inspired many for 52 years. Tom and Hazel went on to have two children. Son, Thomas Dillon III, and spouse Kimberly Dillon, who gave him two grandsons, Brandon and Jacob. Daughter, Sindy Fletcher, and spouse, James Fletcher, who gave him one grandson, Cameron, and two granddaughters, Rachel (Spouse Kevin Reio) and Claudia, and two great-grandchildren, Hazel and Peyton (Children of Rachel and Kevin). Tom also leaves behind his sister, Yvonne Acton, as well as 32 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Edna and Thomas, a daughter, Tammy Michele, and five brothers, Clyde, Sammy, Mike, Gary, and Claude, and two sisters, Paulette and Judy. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Kiwanis Club-Mayo, 1133 Carrs Wharf Road, Edgewater, MD, on May 4, 2024. A short service will be held at 3 p.m., followed by a celebration and refreshments. Please come as you are; there is no need to dress up! In lieu of Flowers, the family requests donations to Gilchrist Hospice, Attn: Philanthropy Department, 11311 McCormick Road, Suite 350, Hunt Valley, Maryland 21031.
