Daniel O'Donnell - Obituary

aniel J. O’Donnell, 75, of Davidsonville, MD and previously of Washington, DC died on March 18, 2014. A beloved husband, father and grandfather, Dan was born on July 19, 1938 to the late John and Julia O’Donnell. He retired from the District of Columbia Fire Department as a Captain after 27 years of dedicated service and friendship. Dan was the cherished husband for 53 years of Barbara O’Donnell; loving father of Erin (Tom) McMichael, Sean (Beth) O’Donnell and Patricia (Todd) Zaranski; adored grandfather of Ryan, Colleen and John McMichael, Megan, Daniel (Cathrin) and Brian O’Donnell, Sean and Kristen Zaranski and brother of the late Mary Slattery. Friends are invited to Dan’s Life Celebration from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 24 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davidsonville, MD. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens.
