ean M. O’Brien, a 26 year resident of Heritage Harbor and previously of Hyattsville, MD passed away August 14, 2015. Jean was born in Washington, DC to the late Austin and Matilda Guiffre on October 5, 1926.
She worked for the Department of Health Occupation and Welfare before becoming a stay at home mom. While raising her children Jean enjoyed sewing and cooking and later in life enjoyed water aerobics, the women’s club and her canine companions.
Jean was predeceased by her husband of 50 plus years George A. O’Brien; she is survived by her son James O’Brien of Annapolis; daughter Mary Breedlove of Lanham, MD; a brother Austin Guiffre of Annapolis, MD, and her Boston Terrier, Billy Kid.
Friends may call on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 from 2 to 4 PM at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday August 20 at 9 AM at St. John Neuman Church, 620 North Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD. Interment to follow at MD Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville.
