K

evin T. O’Connor, 74, a thirty-eight-year resident of Davidsonville, MD, and previously of Greenbelt, MD, died on Monday, June 16, in Bowie, MD after courageously battling Alzheimer’s Disease for nine years. Born on November 7, 1950, in Riverdale, MD, to the late Frank and Marcelle O’Connor, Kevin was a graduate of St. Mary’s School in Landover Hills. He then earned a diploma, signed by President Nixon, in 1970 from the U.S. Capitol Page School in Washington, DC. While attending the U.S. Capitol Page School, he worked 4 years as a U.S. Senate Capitol Page. Kevin also served his country proudly in the US Army, being stationed in Germany during the Vietnam era. He retired from the Architect of the US Capitol, the Senate and House Engineers Office, after 30 years of service. His most rewarding aspect of his position was taking the Members of Congress and various staff, and celebrities on the U.S. Capitol Dome Tours. After retirement, he went on to work at Renditions and South River Golf Courses. He was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church in Davidsonville, MD, and enjoyed coaching Little League baseball. In addition to his parents, Kevin was preceded in death by his twin sons, Ryan and Kyle O’Connor; his brothers, Frank and Brian O’Connor; and his sister, Deirdre O’Connor. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Robyn O’Connor; his siblings, Sean O’Connor of Hagerstown and Maura O’Connor of Rehoboth Beach, DE; his brothers-in-law, Don Bulmer of Clinton, MD and Steve Bulmer of Ocean City, MD; his nephew, who has always been like a son to Kevin and Robyn, Sean O’Connor, Jr.; and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kevin's life at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 West Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD on Tuesday, July 8, from 10 to 11 am, with Mass of Christian Burial being offered at 11 am. A graveside service will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD, at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Kevin’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or online at ALZ.org We kindly invite you to share your memories and condolences with Kevin's family.
