Mary Sharon Zimmerman - Obituary

ary Sharon (Percosky) Zimmerman, 81, formerly of Alexandria, VA and Clarence, NY, and most recently of Annapolis, MD, suddenly passed away on April 2, 2025. She was born and raised in Alexandria, VA to Chester T. Percosky and Dorothy (Phillips) Percosky. Mary Sharon received her Dental Hygienist degree from West Liberty State College in 1965. She worked as a dental hygienist early in her marriage and resumed her career when her children were older. She retired in 2007 to take full time care of her husband of 57 years, Robert L. Zimmerman, who had Multiple Sclerosis. He passed away in July 2023. In their early married life, she and her husband enjoyed camping and traveling. Her pastimes were gardening, cooking, and bird watching. She treasured the time she spent with her children and four grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Erica L. Zimmerman Stahrr, and her husband John P. Stahrr; her son, Robert L. Zimmerman, Jr., and his wife, Shuan Yang; and her four grandchildren: Jessica M. Stahrr, John P. Stahrr, Jr., Jupiter Zimmerman-Yang, and Lotus Zimmerman-Yang. She is also survived by her sister Marguerite (Percosky) Felicione, and her husband, Nicholas Felicione; and her sister-in-law Hilda Rae (Jackson) Percosky. Her only brother Chester T. Percosky passed away in 2020. A small family gathering will occur at a later date. Arrangements are by Kalas Funeral Home, Edgewater, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
