icoletta D’Angelo, 88, of Severna Park and previously of Marlow Heights, MD, passed away on July 20, 2016, at the Regency Park Assisted Living in Gambrills. Born on January 3, 1928, in Orsogna, Italy to the late Antonio and Maria Tenaglia, Nicoletta immigrated to the United States in 1960 with her two children, following her husband who immigrated in 1955. They settled in Marlow Heights and became long-time members of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Washington, DC. A talented seamstress and tailor, Nicoletta worked at the former Woodward and Lothrop Department Store for 36 years. She was also a fabulous cook and loved making dinners for her family and friends. Nicoletta enjoyed knitting and crocheting but, her greatest passion was spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Nicoletta was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Domenico D’Angelo who died in 2014, and by her sister, Maddalena DiPompo. She is survived by her son, Mario (Marilyn) D’Angelo of Cheverly and daughter, Rosanna (David) Farley of Severna Park; three grandchildren, Theresa (Erik) Sullivan, Nicholas (Kristy) D’Angelo and Michael (Jennifer) D’Angelo; four great-grandchildren, Colin and Riley Sullivan, and Alexander and Isabella D’Angelo. Nicoletta looked forward to the birth of a fifth great-grandchild in September. Friends are invited to celebrate Nicoletta’s life with her family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 22 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 23 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park. Entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
