dam Bagdasian, age 94, of Edgewater, MD and previously of Silver Spring, MD died of natural causes on October 24, 2014 at his home. Born in Norfolk, VA to the late Harry and Rosa Bagdasian, Adam grew up in Washington, D.C. He was an avid horseman who owned, trained and raced thoroughbreds in New York, Florida and New Orleans. Adam worked as a plumbing contractor in Washington, D.C. in the 1950’s and later owned a gas station and oil delivery business in Edgewater. In 1981 he financed the first “Adams the Place for Ribs” restaurant. He also served as a Sergeant in the Army National Guard, where he was an expert marksman who trained officers to handle a .45 automatic handgun. In addition to his parents, Adam was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Shirley J. Bagdasian, his brothers, Mike and Hike Bagdasian and his sister, Margaret Ingram. He is survived by his sons, John Hike Bagdasian of Miami, FL, William Adam Bagdasian of Davidsonville, MD and Peter Rimbos of Chicago, IL; his daughters, Mary Rosa and Donna Elizabeth Bagdasian both of Edgewater, MD and Patricia Mahan of Santa Barbara, CA; his sister, Helen Orange of Mt. Airy, MD; his grandchildren, Scott Bagdasian of Chevy Chase, MD, Adam and Joanna Bagdasian and Jackie Belcher all of Edgewater, MD, Christopher Howard of Baltimore, MD, Stacy Bagdasian of Edgewater, MD, Kelly Farasy of Raleigh, NC and Lauren Stark of Silver Spring, MD, 13 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Friends are invited to Adam’s Life Celebration from 11am until his remembrance ceremony begins at 11:30am on Tuesday, October 28 at the George P.
