gatha Delorise Carter Dougans of Washington, DC passed February 5, 2022 at Southern Maryland Hospital in Clinton, MD. She was born September 27 and was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred L. Dougans; her parents Augustine A. Carter and Pearl Carter Veney; her eight sister, Edmonia Caldwell, Helen Scoggins, Alberta Coleman, Cecilia Lewis, E. Louise Ballard, Elsie Pennix, Blanche (Tissie) Dorsey and Theresa (Gussie) Johnson. She is survived by her daughters Elsie D. (Ginny) Isaac (James) , Alycia Dougans Taylor (Terri) and bonus daughter, Deborah A. Moss (Tony); granddaughter Taryn Mobley (Kenneth), Kelli Moss, Jamie L. Hillocks (Andrew), Jenna L. Waddy ( Anthony) and Hunter D. E. Taylor; 2 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and friends. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Columba Catholic Church, 7800 Livingston Road, Oxon Hill, MD 20745 on Friday, February 25, 20222 at 10:00 AM. Please wear red or a pop of red her favorite color. In lieu if flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to the Alzheimer’s Association in her name.
