Agnes Bowen - Obituary

gnes Mae Bowen, 82, a 63-year resident of Annapolis, MD and previously of Bolair, WV died on March 23, 2010 at home of natural causes. Born April 7, 1927 in Bolair, WV to the late Jacob and Ruth Miller and was raised by her aunt and uncle, George and Golda Canfield. She attended Webster Springs High School in Webster Springs, WV and was a homemaker most of her life. Agnes' enjoyed knitting, square dancing, gardening, collecting clocks, salt & pepper shakers and bears. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of Eastport United Methodist Church. Agnes was the beloved wife of Edgar A. Bowen, Sr., whom she married on February 20, 1949; mother of Edgar A. Bowen, Jr. of Riva, MD and George Bowen of Pasadena, MD; sister of Jacob Eugene Miller of Myrtle Beach, SC. She is survived by four grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to Agnes' Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Thursday, March 25 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 26 at at 11am at Eastport United Methodist Church, 926 Bay Ridge Avenue, Annapolis, MD. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Eastport United Methodist Church. Online guest book available for your convenience at www.kalasfuneralhomes.com
