A

gnes Creed Lauderback, 85, of Arnold, MD and formerly of the Cleveland, OH area, peacefully passed away from this life to the next on Saturday, March 29, 2014 in the company of her daughter. Born on May 6, 1928 in Candler, NC to the late Lula Creed, Agnes graduated from Candler High School, class of ’45. Agnes will always be remembered for her love of music, drama and the arts, as well as her love for animals, especially, horses. She could never refuse giving a stray animal a good meal. It was not unusual to see her cry at a beautiful musical piece. Ceramics was her hobby and she enjoyed being with “the girls”. She enjoyed a good book and loved poetry. She loved to travel and Ireland was her favorite place. She felt a connection to her ancestors there. She always brought love and laughter to her family and friends and was known for her “Southern Hospitality”. In addition to her mother, Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar W. Lauderback and 2 grandsons, Michael and Eric Lauderback. She is survived by 2 sons, Edgar Lauderback and his wife, Edel of Vandalia, OH and Dan Haynes and his wife, Sandra of Smyrna, GA; two daughters, Suzanne Lauderback of Playa Del Rey, CA, and Anita “Priss” Haynes of Arnold, MD; grandsons, Jeffrey Haynes and his wife, Michelle and Dale Lauderback and his wife, Gloria and 3 great grandchildren, Michael Jeffrey Haynes, Nicholas and Katarina Lauderback. Funeral service and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Agnes Lauderback’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093 (alz.org - also see link below under DONATIONS).
