gnes V. Butler, 88, a two year resident of Edgewater, MD and previously of Adelphi, MD for over 50 years died June 18, 2008 at the Mandrin Chesapeake Hospice House in Harwood, MD of natural causes. Born September 27, 1919 in National Park, NJ, she graduated from Woodbury High School in Woodbury, NJ in 1936. She retired from the U.S. Soldier's & Airmen's Home in Washington, D.C., where she worked as an office manager. Earlier in her life she was a pre-school teacher for 30 years. She was a member of St. Camillus Catholic Church in Silver Spring, MD and a member of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution). Her hobbies included antiquing and reading. Survivors include her children, Susan B. Weddle of Edgewater, MD and George E. Butler of Edgewater, MD, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and 32 nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to Agnes' Life Celebration on Sunday, June 22, from 5 to 8 pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, June 23 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 West Central Avenue, Davidsonville, MD. Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Mandrin Chesapeake Hospice House, c/o Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
