Alan Herbert - Obituary

lan F. Herbert , "Herbie", of Davidsonville, MD passed away on Saturday, April 25 surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 21, 1934 in Washington, DC to the late Howard and Louise Herbert, Alan was a graduate of Anacostia High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a police officer for 23 years with the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington, DC. Alan or “Herbie” is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jacqueline Herbert; his children, Tracy Herbert Joyce and her husband John of Crofton, MD, Michael Herbert and his wife Teresa of Davidsonville, MD and Jodie Leigh Herbert of Arlington, VA and five grandchildren, Kara, Nicolette, Victoria, Alanna and Michael, Jr. Friends are invited to celebrate Herbie's life from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 1 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W.
