lbert Daniel "Al" Patane, 90, a 25 year resident of Annapolis and previously of Bethesda, MD, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2019 at the Hospice of the Chesapeake Rebecca Fortney Center. Born on May 24, 1928 in Washington, DC to the late Joseph and Rosaria Amante Patane, Al graduated from Eastern High School and earned an aeronautical engineering degree from Catholic University before joining the U.S. Coast Guard. His passions were his grandchildren, great grandchildren, fishing and vintage cars. He was a loving and faithful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Al was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Mary Patane. He is survived by his devoted children, Rosemarie (Roger) Hale and Anthony J. (Denise) Patane, all of Annapolis; five grandchildren, Robert (Rebecca) Allegar, Marie (Mike) Edwards, Christopher (Anne), Kevin and Anthony "TJ" Patane; three great-grandchildren, Alexis, Maxwell and Ryan and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to celebrate Al's life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory , 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 Bestgate Rd., Annapolis, MD on Friday, February 1 at 9:00 AM. Entombment private.
