Alberta C. Witter - Obituary

lberta C. Witter, 105, a resident of Annapolis, MD for over 25 years and previously of Alexandria, VA, passed away at her residence in Annapolis on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. Alberta was born in Boston, MA on June 2, 1917, to the late Louis F and Mary M. Calabres. Alberta attained her Master’s degree in Library Science. A lifelong educator, she taught in Chappaqua, NY, South Hampton, New York, Quantico, Honolulu, Hawaii, and Mount Vernon, VA. She was a proud Navy daughter and a devout Catholic. She attended St. Mary’s Church in Annapolis. Her interests included flowers and gardening and current events. She also enjoyed socializing and feeding the squirrels. In addition to her parents, Alberta was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ralph Witter. She is survived by her stepdaughter, Ann (Jim) Smith of Rossville, IL. Alberta will be laid to rest with her husband at Lakeview Cemetery, in Ithaca, NY.
