Alejo James Lopez - Obituary

lejo James “Butch” Lopez, 74, a resident of Shady Side, MD for twenty-two years, died of cancer on May 31 at his residence. Born on September 26, 1946 in Stanford, CT, Butch worked as an electrician at the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) for many years. He enjoyed football, basketball and landscaping. Butch is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diane S. Lopez; his children Todd R. Lopez of Shady Side, MD and Gina M. Lopez of Annapolis, MD and his siblings, Donald Lopez, Helena Fineran and Carol Diaz. He was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony Lopez. Friends are invited to celebrate Butch’s life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Monday, June 7 at 11 am. Inurnment will follow at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, MD.
