Alfred Johnson - Obituary

lfred “Al” J. Johnson, 90, a 14-year resident of Annapolis, MD and previously of District Heights, MD died suddenly at his home on March 20, 2010. Born September 18, 1919 in Washington, D.C., he was employed as a service technician with Washington Gas Company, retiring after 31 years. He served in the United States Army during WWII. Al enjoyed bowling, playing pool, golf and big band music. He was the beloved husband of the late Mildred D. Johnson, whom he married in August of 1939 and who died in February 1999; father of Gloria J. Johnson of Westminster, MD and the late Nancy H. Ernest, who died March 10, 2010; father-in-law of David W. Ernest, Sr.; brother of the late Bradley T. Johnson, Jr.; grandfather of Stephanie L. and David W. Ernest, Jr. of New Windsor, MD. In addition to Carol King, a niece and nephews, Brad Johnson and the late Robert Johnson Friends are invited to Al's Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Tuesday, March 23 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm, where services will be held on Wednesday, March 24 at 1pm.
