A

lfred Munk Lawson “Doc”, age 101, a four-year resident of Annapolis who previously lived in Fredericksburg, VA, died June 21, 2024, at Spring Arbor in Crofton, MD. Born in Hamburg, Germany on September 30, 1922, to the late Dr. Arnold and Thekla Lawson, Alfred earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 1947, which launched his lifelong career as a pharmacist. He was the owner of Lawson & Sons Pharmacy from 1948-1983, and continued working as a pharmacist until 2020 at 98 years old. He honorably served his country as a Captain in the US Navy during World War II. Alfred belonged to numerous pharmaceutical associations, and he enjoyed golf, football, country music, poker, Rummikub, and Scrabble. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Helen Lawson and his daughter Bonnie Jean Lawson. Alfred is survived by his children, Robert Lawson of Denver, CO, Sharyn Pensmith of Annapolis, MD and Diane Lawson of Silver Spring, MD; grandchildren Max Lawson of Denver, CO and Michele Snow of Struthers, OH; a great granddaughter, Dakota Snow of Struthers, OH; and a great great grandchild, Camden Snow.
