A

lfred Mario Luciani “Boosh” born August 17, 1926 returned to God on March 15, 2008 due to complications of renal cancer. Al Luciani, friend, mentor, and coach of hundreds of young people, was born in Steubenville, OH. He served in WW II and the Korean War. From 1955-66, he coached St. Anthony's CYO football at Turkey Thickett field. From 1966-96, he coached JV baseball and varsity football for Archbishop Carroll High School. In 2005, he was inducted into the Archbishop Carroll High School Alumni Association Hall of Honor. He is survived by sisters Rita Giovenco and Elsie Fallica, brothers John Lucian and Robert Lucian, and an extended family of over a hundred. He was predeceased by parents Frank and Laura Luciani, brothers Jerry and Aldo, and sister, Olga Hillard. Friends and Relatives are invited to Alfred's Life Celebration on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at George P. Kalas Funeral Home 2973 Solomons Island Rd.Edgewater, MD., from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bowie, MD on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at 11am. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Washington, DC.
