A

lfred Perrie Parks, 87, an 11 year resident of Myrtle Beach, SC and previously of Annapolis, MD died on July 16, 2008 at the Grand Strand Healthcare Center, Myrtle Beach, SC of lung cancer. Alfred was born August 29, 1920 in Tracy's Landing, MD, to the late George Conley Parks and the late Margaret Paddy Parks. He attended Southern High School. After high school, he served in the Navy Seabees during WWII and was a long time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and The American Legion. He was owner of Wheeler & Parks Masonry in Annapolis, MD from 1951-1974. His was very active in the VFW and was a member of the American Legion in South Carolina. He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary E. Parks who died in 1989. He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy E. Parks, who he married on December 31, 1989. father of Harry Parks and his wife Lynda of Palm Bay, FL, Rochelle Keen and her husband Eddie of Edgewater, MD; step-father of Paul Murray of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandfather of Todd Parks and his wife Fa, Amy Brown and her husband Mike, Kelly Petrella and her husband Mike, Alicia Stellato and her husband Chris, Kelley Keen, Eddie Keen, Jr. and his wife Caray, Matthew Keen and his wife Lisa, Jesse Keen and his wife Sue. He is also survived by his brother, William Parks and his wife Ethel of Prince Frederick, MD; Also surviving are 20 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Al will be greatly missed by his many friends in Myrtle Beach, SC for his charm and droll sense of humor. Viewing will be from 7-9PM, July 18, 2008 at the Goldfinch Funeral Home in Murrell's Inlet, SC. A second viewing will be held for his family and friends from 2-4PM and 7-9PM, July 20 2008 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home in Edgewater, MD. A funeral service will be held at St. James Parish in Lothian, MD on Monday, July 21, 2008 at 1pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
