Alfreda Dooley - Obituary

ge 63, a United States Department of Justice Retiree, was born in Williamsburg, Virginia to the late Charles "Sonny" Dooley and Nannie Smith, died at home, in Ft. Washington, Maryland, with her family present, on Sunday, December 14, 2008, after a year long battle with cancer. Alfreda Dooley was a proud alumnus of Norfolk State University and worked for over 25 years in the Federal Government before retiring as a Senior Budget Analyst with the United States Department of Justice. She was also a proud member of the Society of Poets and a volunteer and advocate for children and women rights. She is survived by her only child, son, Alfredo J. Dooley Hernandez, sister, Barbara Greene, brother-in-law, Bernard Greene, nephew, Daniel King, grandchild, Joshua Kaupa, her beloved "BEST" friend, Laura Elmore and a host of other relatives and friends. Family and friends are invited to Alfreda's Life Celebration on Saturday, December 20 at 2:00p.m. at GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd. Oxon Hill, MD. Interment private.
