Alice J. Pietras - Obituary

lice J. Pietras, 87, a resident of Brightview Severna Park, Baywoods of Annapolis and Ulmstead Estates for more than 50 years, died unexpectedly on Thursday, September 2 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Born on November 28, 1933, in Springfield, MA to the late Stephanie and Felix Jasienowski, Alice worked at Monsanto Chemical prior to working as an executive secretary at ARINC until her retirement. Alice was a longtime volunteer at St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church and sang in the Sweet Adelines female chorus for many years. She lived a long and full life, raising her sons, and traveling the world with her family. She also enjoyed the company of neighbors, friends, and family. Alice is survived by her beloved husband, Ed Pietras; her sons, Eric Pietras of Annapolis, MD and Mark Pietras and his wife, Elizabeth of Scarborough, ME; her sisters, Emily Sherwood of Vero Beach, FL and Lois Conery of Chesapeake, VA and her grandchildren, Evan Pietras of Chevy Chase, MD, Jake Pietras of Annapolis, MD, Avery Pietras of New York, NY and Austin Pietras of Scarborough, ME. A Mass of the Resurrection will be offered at St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church, 701 College Pkwy., Annapolis, MD at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 30.
