Alice Ulasek - Obituary

lice O'Hara Ulasek, 92, resident of Heritage Harbor, Annapolis, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. She was born on April 23, 1915 in Billerica, Massachusetts, to the late Frederick O'Hara and Lena Conway O'Hara. She attended the Howe High School and graduated in 1932. She moved to Washington, DC to work for the Federal Government, where she met her husband, Henry. She performed volunteer work at Prince George's Hospital and enjoyed dancing, music and traveling, but she most loved the company of her granddaughters. She is survived by Henry, her loving husband of 64 years, her daughters, Ellen Guyker of Baltimore and Margaret (Peggy) Ulasek of Huntingtown, her granddaughters Desiree Anson and Carrie Martin. She is also survived by her sisters, Eleanor Hayes of Dover, NH, Grace Joncas and Elizabeth (Betty) Ferraro of North Billerica, MA. She leaves her godchildren, Judy Hayes and Jack Conway and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Phyllis McGowan of North Billerica, MA; Louise Mann of Lowell, MA and Shirley Nuttall of Rhode Island. Family and friends are welcome to join in a celebration of her life from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Wednesday January 30, 2008 at the Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road. Edgewater, MD. A Mass of Christian burial will offered on Wednesday at 12:00 PM at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 101 Owensville Rd. (RT.255), West River, MD 20778. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 5335 Wisconsin Ave. NW, Washington, D.C. 20015.
