Alicia Wilmot - Obituary

licia Irene Wilmot, 76, a 5-year resident of Edgewater, MD and previously of Damascus, MD died on December 15, 2009 at Inova Fairfax Hospital of lung disease after a 5 year illness. Born February 25, 1933 in Mt. Carmel, IL, she graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Institution Management. She was employed as a dietician at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Philadelphia, PA and was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Edgewater, MD. Her hobbies included ceramics, artwork, travel and entertaining. She was the beloved wife of John C. Wilmot, whom she married on January 2, 1955; mother of James Wilmot of Damascus, MD, Jane Johnson of Ashland, VA and Julie Whalen of Derwood, MD; sister of Bill Beesley of Mt. Carmel, IL, Doris Abney of Berea, KY and the late Dale and Gene Beesley. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren. Friends are invited to Alicia's Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island, Edgewater, MD on Friday, December 18, from 2:00 to 4:00pm and from 7:00pm until funeral service begins at 8:00pm. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens on Saturday, December 26 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Inova Heart & Vascular Institute, 3300 Gallows Road, Falls Church, VA 22042.
