Alva Wise - Obituary

lva Elizabeth Wise, age 89, of Annapolis, MD died on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. She was born on November 24, 1926 in Baltimore, MD to the late Langston and Ethel Ward. She and her late husband Howard M. Wise owned the Shell Service Stations in Burwood and Brooklyn Park, MD. Alva was a member of the Annapolis and Glen Burnie Moose Lodges and attended various American Legions in the Baltimore area. She loved to dance, bowl and sew. Alva was preceded in death by her husband, Howard M. Wise and is survived by one daughter, Patricia (Joseph) Ondrovik of Annapolis, two sons, Howard J. of Brooklyn Park and Richard M. (Tracey)Wise of Boynton Beach, FL, one brother, Bernard Ward of Selbyville, DE, two sisters, Doris Peterson of Westminster and Marg Myers of Eldersburg, MD, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. There is a memorial gathering on Saturday, January 9 from 3 to 5pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Interment private.
