A

malia "Margie" Bertoncini, 96, a resident of Annapolis, MD for thirty years and previously of New York City, died on Tuesday, May 15 due to congestive heart failure. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on September 30, 1921 to the late Jose and Angela Gonzalez, Margie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She served in the U.S. Army during World War II and later was a nurse at Madison Avenue Hospital and Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Margie was a parishioner of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Annapolis. She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Mario Bertoncini; her brother, Jose Gonzalez of Waterbury, CT; her nephew, Joseph Gonzalez of New York City and her nieces, Rose Marie Gonzalez of New York City and Judy Meushaw of Rehoboth Beach, DE. Friends are invited to celebrate Margie's life at the Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Monday from 2 to 5 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 Bestgate Rd., Annapolis, MD on Tuesday, May 22 at 9:15 AM. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD.
