mor Galeng, age 70, passed away on the morning of September 22, 2025, in Fort Washington, MD surrounded by his family.
Amor was born on March 14, 1955 in San Narciso, Zambales, Philippines, to Margarita Ramos and Nicholas Galeng Sr. Amor is survived by his wife Lolita; children: Christine, Arvie (Chris) and Anne Marie; step children: Jefferson (Roxanne) and Steven; grandchildren: Maleah, Riley, Ella, Jeannie, and Gabriel; and siblings: Alexander (Merlinda), Julio (Ann), Nicholas (Malu), Emmanuel (Ghuy), Nilda and Orland (Angie). He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas Sr. and Margarita, and his sister, Teresa.
Amor graduated from Zambales Academy in the Philippines in 1971 and later moved to the United States in 1984. He worked as a butcher (Manager) at Andrews Air Force Base Commissary for many years before retiring in May 2021. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and cooking for his family. He was known for being the videographer of the family, his amazing cooking (especially his roast beef), and his aquarium filled with colorful fish. He loved attending family events, video calling his family members in the Philippines, singing karaoke, watching action movies, and tinkering with electronics and appliances.
His memory will live on the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to Amor's Life Celebration on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 2 to 8 P.M. at the KALAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 6160 Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill, MD 20745. Mass of Christian Burial will offered on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 10 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Piscataway, 13401 Piscataway Rd., Clinton MD 20735. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Rd., Clinton, MD.
