Angelo L. Curro - Obituary

ngelo Louis Curro, 85, of Edgewater, transitioned peacefully the afternoon of Tuesday, May 28, 2024 surrounded by his wife of nearly 65 years and all his children and grandchildren. Born on December 19, 1938 in Washington, DC to the late Rosaria and Luigi Curro, Angelo attended John Carroll High School, and worked for the US government for over 32 years. He loved a big Italian dinner, orange crushes, and a good home project to set his mind (and hands) to and his favorite place was Montego Bay in Ocean City working at the hardware store and chatting it up with anyone and everyone at Duffy's Tavern. As his family says, no one was a stranger to Angelo. In addition to his parents, Angelo is preceded in death by his brother, Paul Curro and sisters, Nancy McCarthy and Nina Fleri. Angelo is survived by his wife, Betty (Atkins) Curro and four children, Steve Curro (Debra), Lisa Boatman (Matt), Christopher Curro (Lisa), and Camille Curro (Steve). He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Ryan Curro (Selen), Taylor Curro (Kaysha), Alex Curro, Kevin Curro, and Sehee Curro, along with two great-grandchildren, Rylee and Ayden Curro. Furthermore, he is survived by his brother Tommy Curro. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Angelo’s life on Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 11:00 am until his funeral service begins at 12:00 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD 21037.
