Ann Haftl - Obituary

nn Catherine (Kravetz) Haftl, age 84, died peacefully on June 17, at her home in Gambrills, MD, with family by her side. Ann was born Nov. 1, 1930, in Walnutport, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents Stefan and Anastasia (Milko) Kravetz; brothers Nicholas and Charles; and sister Kathryn Kipila. She was united in marriage to Walter Haftl on September 2, 1961, in Palmerton, PA. He preceded her in death April 13, 2014. They were married for 52 wonderful years. Ann thoroughly enjoyed art. After graduating from Liberty High School, Bethlehem, she attended the Moore Institute of Art, Philadelphia. Ann worked as a textile artist and continued to appreciate and create art throughout her life. Ann is survived by her brother, Michael Kravetz and wife Gloria, Berlinsville, PA; daughters Jennifer Haftl, Gambrills, MD, and Emily Lagana, husband Michael, and grandson Dominic, Gambrills, MD; and numerous family and friends. A graveside service will be held July 10 at 1:30 p.m., Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in Ann’s name to the Moore College of Art & Design.
