Anna Hedrick - Obituary

A

nna Cromer Hedrick Born January 5, 1922, in Detroit, MI. Having moved to Virginia with her mother and siblings, she graduated from Bridgewater High School and set out to make a difference in this world in 1938. Her search for a rewarding career led her to the Washington area and her first residence in Alexandria, VA, where she worked and continued her education at Strayer College. Anna continued to work and, after courses at George Washington University, the University of Maryland and Montgomery College, she earned paralegal certification, which aided in her affiliation as Office Manager at the law firm of Danzansky and Dickey in Washington and later as Administrative Manager of the Law Department at Giant Foods, Inc. Anna Hedrick endeared herself to everyone she knew and her nieces and nephews were treated as her own. She spent countless hours supporting various individuals, charities and non-profit activities. Her impact in the Washington and Maryland communities in which she lived continues to be felt and her generosity of time and resources has been experienced by all who have known her. Her generosity, honesty, trustworthiness, laughter and humility impacted all her friends, business associates, and relatives. She loved golfing and her many friends who shared this passion with her, playing the game into her late 80's. She is survived by her sisters, Vera Cromer Kincheloe of Charlotte, NC, and Eleanor Cromer Cregger of Rockville, MD, and sister-in-law, Joan W. Cromer of Palm City, FL, and numerous nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Contributions may be given in her memory to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
