nna “Ann” Mary Johnston, 89, a 3 ½ year resident of Heritage Harbour Community in Annapolis, MD and previously of Bowie, MD died on May 29, 2011 of a cardiac arrhythmia at Heritage Harbour Health & Rehabilitation Center in Annapolis after a brief illness.
Born October 4, 1921 in Inwood, Long Island, NY, to the late Mary Molino and Tom Provenzano, she was employed as a secretary at Air Force Systems Command at Andrews Air Force Base from 1964-79. Anna enjoyed politics, reading and loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Donald M. Johnston, whom she married in 1946 and who died in 1987; and 4 siblings, Minnie Mutone, Helen Greco, Edith Golemme and Tom Provenzano, Jr.
Anna is survived by 1 son, Donald (Peggy) M. Johnston, Jr. of Chesapeake, VA; 1 daughter, Anne M. Crowley of Annapolis, MD; also survived by 4 grandchildren, Peter M. Johnston of Norfolk, VA, Andrew P. Crowley of Annapolis, MD, Robyn (Craig) LaPorte of Gainsville, VA and Shannon M. Crowley of Annapolis, MD.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 29 at 4pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD.
