Anne Cleaver - Obituary

nne I. Cleaver, 83, a resident of the Annapolis area for 29 years, died of complications from Alzheimer's disease Sept. 21 at the Assisted Living Well in Millersville after a five-year illness. Born May 11, 1924, in Pittsburgh, Pa., Mrs. Cleaver graduated from Muse, Pa., High School as the valedictorian. She was a homemaker and retired from the U.S. District Court. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Davidsonville, where she volunteered for many years. Her interests included crossword puzzles, travel and gardening. Surviving are her husband, C. Edward Cleaver, whom she married in 1944; three sons, Stu Cleaver of Severn, Kenneth Cleaver of Davidsonville and Ron Cleaver of Fairfax Station, Va.; two sisters, Agnes McAllen of Cameron, Mo., and Katherine Streeter of Fredericksburg, Va.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Her daughter, Mary Cleaver, died in 1975. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Ave., in Davidsonville. Burial will be in Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring.
