Anne Panor - Obituary

nne (Anastasia) Panor, 93, of McLean, VA and previously of Washington, DC, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at the Halquist Memorial Inpatient Center in Arlington, VA. Anne was born on April 2, 1924 in Washington, DC to the late George and Zena Panor. She was a 1942 graduate of the old Central High School in Washington, DC and began working for the U.S. Department of State Foreign Service immediately upon graduation. Recognized repeatedly over the 30+ years with the Foreign Service for exemplary professionalism, commitment and dedication, she retired in 1975 from the Office of Personnel. She was a member of St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church. Her interests included traveling and spending time with her dear close friends and family. In addition to her parents, Anne was preceded in death by her siblings, Sophie Fleming, James Panor and Helen Panor. She is survived by her nephews, James Panor Jr. and George Panor and his wife, Wendy; her great-nephews, Nicholas, John and Gregory Panor and great-niece, Catherine Panor. Friends are invited to Anne’s funeral service on April 5, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Church, 2815 36th St NW, Washington, DC. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
