nne Costello Ventura, age 85, a thirty-year resident of Annapolis, died on Monday, October 17, 2011 in Severna Park, MD. Born on January 5, 1926 in London, England, Anne was a former beauty queen who was crowned Miss London in 1946. A wonderful, loving and caring mother, Anne raised three children in the Washington, D.C. area while pursuing her working career as a top saleslady at Wm. A. Miller Furniture Co. for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed tracking and investing in the stock market, and was considered an excellent ballroom dancer. Anne also enjoyed traveling, particularly to Europe with her brother and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren in her later years. Anne attended Holy Family Catholic Church in Davidsonville, MD and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Annapolis, MD.
Anne was predeceased by her former husband, Joseph Ventura and her brother, John Costello. She is survived by two sons, James Ventura of Riva, MD and Mike Ventura of Arlington, VA; a daughter, Susan Guinn of Crofton, MD; two grandsons, J.P. and Tommy Ventura and three granddaughters, Michelle Ventura, Heather and Melissa Guinn. Friends are invited to Anne’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Friday, October 21 from 6 to 8PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD on Saturday, October 22 at 10 AM. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens.
