nthony Alcamo, 89, a resident in Annapolis since 2007, died peacefully March 3, 2012.
Son of Sicilian immigrants, Tony was born in Baltimore. He worked for Continental Can Company for 37 years. His career took him to West Virginia and New Jersey where he raised his family. He was an Army veteran of WW II with the 106th Division involved in the Battle of the Bulge and attended Johns Hopkins University School of Engineering.
He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Mary Audrey (Klein) in 2009.
He is survived by his children, Linda Genna and her husband Michael of Edgewater, Robert and his wife Elizabeth of Bethlehem, PA, and Joyce Esker and her husband Walt of Milford, MA; and nine grandchildren, Lori, Matthew (and wife Alison), and Lisa Genna; Alicia, Christina, and Nicole Alcamo; Walter Anthony, Brandon and Stephanie Esker.
Friends are invited to Anthony’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater on Tuesday, March 6 from 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Avenue, Davidsonville on Wednesday, March 7 at 11am. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville.
