A

nthony J. Brodnick Retired Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Anthony J. Brodnick, 90, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, in Fayetteville, NC. Tony was born Aug. 7, 1921, in Harrisburg, Pa., to Anthony and Ruth Brodnick. Tony joined the U.S. Air Force at a young age; he married Marion Palmer and was married for 68 years. He was stationed with his family in England, Germany, New York City, and other cities in the U.S. He retired while serving at Andrews Air Force Base outside Washington, D.C. Mr. Brodnick is survived by his wife, Marion; brother, Louis Brodnick; three daughters and their spouses, Chris and Frank Sweeney, Mary and Frank DeGeorge and Melody and Paul Poetzsch; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his work ethic, his devotion to duty, the fleets of airplanes crafted by hand and his kind and loving disposition. Funeral service will be held at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Friday, April 6 at 9am, followed by a graveside service with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery at 11am.
