nthony “Tony†J. Petriccione, 72, a 13-year resident of Crownsville, MD and previously of Bowie, MD died on August 6, 2009 at Anne Arundel Medical Center of natural causes.
Born October 2, 1936 in New York, NY, he graduated from Archbishop Stepinac High School, Columbia University with a Bachelors degree in Business and a Masters degree in Business from The City College of New York. He did statistics for the federal government at the Department of Education until retirement and also was a budget officer with Prince George's County Schools. Mr. Petriccione served in the United States Army. He was appointed by President Nixon to the Right to Read program. Tony coached little league for the Bowie Boys and Girls Club, was a Cub Scout leader, was active in the South County Senior Center and was a parishioner at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church in Millersville, MD. His hobbies included traveling, creative writing, watercolor painting and fishing.
He was the beloved husband of Dorothy J. Petriccione, whom he married in 1995; father of Anthony Petriccione, Jr. of Lake Mary, FL, Joseph Petriccione of Atlanta, GA and Andrew Petriccione of Bradenton, FL; stepfather of Allison Gargano of Millersville, MD; brother of Anita Davidson of PA; grandfather of Oliva, Danielle and Lianna Gargano, Hailey, Sydney and Jacob Petriccione. Friends are invited to Anthony's Life Celebration on Sunday, August 9 from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, August 10 at 10am at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Ave S, Millersville, MD 21108-2201. Interment church cemetery.
