nthony “Tony” Zuccaro, QMC USN Retired died at home at age 89 on April 8 among family. He was born December 8, 1925 in Boston, MA to Italian immigrant parents, Antonio and Marianna (nee Pancuillo) Zuccaro. Tony’s twenty-year Naval career as a ship’s navigator spanned World War II and Korea. After retiring from the Navy, he continued to serve his country for 22 years as a Ships Operations Specialist at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association for more than 50 years, including service with Branch 24, Annapolis.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Barbara Jenkins Zuccaro of Odenton, Maryland; daughter, Annmarie Birnbaum and grandson, Micheal Anthony Birnbaum of Franklin Square, New York; and his stepdaughter, Kimmie Lee Jenkins of Baltimore, Maryland.
His first wife Marie Orlando and his daughter Susan Mary Zuccaro preceded him in death.
Friends are invited to Tony’s viewing on Sunday, April 12th from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1300 West Street in Annapolis, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 13. Interment will be private.
