A

ntoinette Petruso Diemer, “Anne”, 98, a resident of Glenn Dale, MD, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Sunrise Assisted Living of Severna Park. Anne was born in on February 11, 1924, in Meadville, PA to the late Dominico and Agata Petruso. Anne was a 1942 graduate of Meadville High School and attended Penn State University. Anne worked as a Munitions Control Officer for the US Department of State. She was a parishioner at St. Matthias Catholic Church, a member of the St. Matthias Leisure Club, and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Anne’s interests included cooking, reading, crossword puzzles, and politics. In addition to her parents, Anne was preceded in death by her former husband, Robert Diemer, her siblings; Joseph Petruso, Fanny de Hernandez, Madeline “Lee” Trotter, Mary Betz, Agatha “Aggie” Ritchie, and Geraldine “Mae” Bradish. Anne is survived by her children, Craig Alan Diemer and his wife Mary of Gambrills, MD, Roberta Diemer of Crisfield, MD, and Karen Brant and her husband Michael of Weaverville, NC. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mark Santo Diemer (Katie), Joseph Edward Diemer, Thomas Brant, and Rachel Brant, and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Anne’s life on Thursday, March 24, 2022, from 6 to 8 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD 21037. A Mass of the Resurrection will be offered on Friday, March 25 at 11 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Maryland Republican Party, P.O. Box 631, Annapolis, MD 21404.
