Ardis Murphy - Obituary

rdis Greenman Flaesch Murphy, 86, died December 22, 2007, after a long battle with Alzheimers and Diabetes. Born in Cadillac, Michigan on July 6, 1921, Ardis attended Moody Bible College and Battle Creek Community Hospital Nursing School. She then joined the Army Nurse Corp in 1945 and was shipped to Germany where she met and married Cornelius Joseph Flaesch, they were divorced in 1965. Ardis married Patrick Murphy in 1969 and they lived in Camp Springs, Md. She worked for 40 years in Washington, D.C. area hospitals as a private duty nurse. She is survived by her devoted husband, Patrick and her children, Suzanne Thomas of Churchton, MD., Lia Melinda Bello of Taos, NM., Jon Flaesch of Elkridge, MD., step-daughter Patricia Stuecker of Phoenix, AZ., seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Step-daughter, Merlene Rayford preceded her in death. A memorial service at Kalas Funeral Home will take place at 10:30 am. on January 14, 2008. Interment is planned for Arlington National Cemetery at 2:00 the same day.
