Arlene Ayres Brown - Obituary

rlene Ayres Brown, 83, a resident of Memphis, TN for forty-three years, died on Thursday, November 11th in Annapolis, MD. Born on January 11, 1938 in Washington, DC to the late Alfred and Esther Ayres, Arlene was a graduate of Bladensburg High School. In the 1950’s she appeared on local television singing with Patsy Cline. She loved music and was a very talented singer and musician. She enjoyed horses, fox hunts, horse jumping, country and bluegrass music, art and painting. Arlene was the beloved sister of the late Bernice M. Wachter; aunt of Theresa A. Corley and her husband, John D. Corley of Harwood, MD and Lawrence F. Wachter of Davidsonville, MD; great-aunt of John A. Corley of Harwood, MD. She is also survived by many cherished cousins and friends. Friends are invited to celebrate Arlene’s life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Tuesday, November 16 from 11 am until her funeral service begins at 12 noon.
