rthur Lynn Cook “Gus”, age 54, of Lusby, MD died on Thursday November 17, 2011 at Calvert Memorial Hospital after a lengthy battle with various health issues. Born on June 1, 1957 in Washington, D.C. to the late Joan Donaldson Shirley and Frank Arthur Cook, Gus served in the U.S. Army and then worked as a painter for the federal government. In addition to his parents, Gus was preceded in death by his son, Arthur Lynn Cook, Jr. and his stepfather, Daniel Lee Shirley. He is survived by his daughters, Amy (Kenny) Miller and Dawn (Billy) Torres; a son, Daniel Cook and his fiancée Jill; a sister Cheryl (George) Ruf and seven grandchildren, Andrew, Christina, Jessica, Ashley, William, Brody and Shianne. Friends are invited to Gus’ Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Tuesday, November 22 from 11:00am until his funeral service begins at 12:00 Noon. Interment private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 635 West Lexington St., Baltimore, MD 21201.
