Audrey Bishop - Obituary

udrey Louise Bishop, 84, died August 26 of brain cancer. Her husband, children and some grandchildren were at her bedside when she passed. Audrey was born January 25, 1927, in St. Louis, MO, to Louis and Stella Reily. She married Frank M. Bishop on June 16, 1951. She was employed by Annapolis Federal and retired from the Selective Service Branch of the Federal Government after 12 years of service. She received many awards and accomodations while working for the Selective Service. She loved to travel throughout the country with her husband in their RV. They visited many family members and friends along the way. They spent their winters in Phoenix with their son James and family. She loved watching her grandchildren's sporting events year round. She was their biggest fan from a very early age through their college years. She enjoyed many activities at the Senior Center in Edgewater, especially crafts, bus trips and lunch with friends. Many of her crafts appear in her children's homes. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in West River for 39 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Marie Kilper; and three brothers, Robert, Louis and Lawrence Reily. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Frank Bishop; three sons, Frank Louis (Linda) of Lothian, James Michael of Phoenix, AZ and Douglas Mitchell (Laurie) of Columbia; and seven grandchildren, Amy, Kaitlyn, Robyn, Ryan, Justin, Andrew and Jenna Bishop. She was also an aunt to many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater on Wednesday, August 31 from 10 a.m. until Audrey's funeral service begins at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at 1 p.m. at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
