Audrey Jennings - Obituary

udrey Fraze Jennings, 72, a resident of Heritage Harbour in Annapolis for 19 years died October 22nd at Hospice of the Chesapeake in Linthicum, MD after a 3-year struggle with cancer. Born July 5, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York. Graduated from Millburn H.S in New Jersey in 1955 where she was the Drum Majorette for the high school marching band. She spent her summers at Estling Lake in Denville, New Jersey where she enjoyed sailing, swimming and diving. She earned a degree in Elementary Education from Goucher College in Towson, Maryland in 1959. Audrey lived in Ridgewood, New Jersey for 25 years where she raised her three children. She was a member of the Junior Women's Club and active as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. In 1990, she and her husband, Ken retired to Annapolis, Maryland. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and the New Annapolitans. The couple attended Naval Academy concerts, hosted Bridge games, and enjoyed local activities and cultural events offered by Annapolis. Audrey is predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Kenneth Irwin Jennings. Survivors include two sons, Douglas Jennings and his wife, Patricia of Dagsboro, DE.; Steven Jennings and his wife, Mary of Mountainside, NJ.; One daughter, Karen Hogan and her husband ,John of Alpharetta, GA.; and 5 grandchildren, Alison, Olivia, William, Kevin, and Caitlin. She is also survived by her brother, R. Lawrence Fraze, DDS and his wife Carol of Oldwick, NJ.; and her aunt, Doris Edwards of Denville, NJ. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct 24th, at noon at Calvary United Methodist Church, 301 Rowe Blvd., Annapolis, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church or Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD.
