A

urora Nicolas Cruz, resident of Fort Washington, MD, passed away on January 3, 2021 at the age of 79. She was born in Paranaque, Manila, Philippines daughter of the late Arcadio Nicolas and Amparo Pascual. Also preceded by her late sisters, Yolanda and Angelita and nephew Noel. She is survived by her husband CPO Eduardo P. Cruz, USN, Retired; her children Rhandy (Beth), Eileen (Claudio), Edward and Edna (Jon); eight grandchildren, Tyler, Vanessa, Alyssa, Rachel, Sierra, Kyla, Joshua, Nina and one great-grandson, Tyler. She is also survived by her sister Leonora (Max) and numerous nieces and nephews. Since the age of 7 yrs old, Aurora could be seen playing in her town with her future soulmate Eddie. At 19yrs of age, she got married and became the wife of a US Navy sailor. After having two children, she left the Philippines for the family’s first duty station in Japan and later traveled to the United States and Italy where she toured all of Europe and made her destination to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes. Returning to the stateside in the Washington, DC area. Aurora and her family of 6 comfortability settled down in Maryland. Aurora was a loving wife, protective mother and devoted grandma. She was like a second mother to many, always willing to help, and known for sharing stories and long talks with family and friends. She was never shy to meet new people and could connect in the most genuine way. Aurora was most proud of her children and grandchildren, supporting in every way possible. There was never a shortage of food at the table and her generosity overflowed in bulk. Her signature birthday and Christmas gifts were the highlight of the day. Till the end, Aurora was always caring for the love of her life and husband of 59 years. Side-by-side at all times and coordinating outfits to events and church. Aurora was content with the life she lived and built. She was strong in her faith and confident of her slot through the gates in heaven.
