Avery Constance Houck - Obituary

very Constance Houck, of Crownsville, MD died on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Johns Hopkins University Hospital. She was six years old. Born December 12, 2010, at Anne Arundel Medical in Annapolis, MD, Avery was a student at Waugh Chapel Elementary School and previously of Benfield Elementary School. She was a "warrior princess," who survived seven months in the NICU, an open-heart surgery, and a brain stroke at age three, followed by fourth months of recovery at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. Avery loved music and dancing and was fond of Minnie Mouse, Caillou, Super Why, Elmo, Sophia the First, and watching her favorite movie Frozen. Avery also enjoyed the playground, swing set, and running with her friends. She adored reading books with her Mom and Dad and playing games on her iPad. Avery was the beloved daughter of James and Kathy Houck; devoted sister of Talon and Cora Houck; treasured granddaughter of Arnold and Carol McKechnie, Leigh Houck and Larry Buc, and Barbara and Rob Roy Houck, Sr.; cherished great-granddaughter of John and Judy Schuyler and Henry and Ann Ahrens On Friday, April 28th, friends are invited to attend a service celebrating the life of Avery Constance Houck at Calvary United Methodist Church in Annapolis, Maryland. The service will begin at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow on-site in the Fellowship Hall.
