Balbina Cordova - Obituary

n Tuesday, December 16, 2014, Balbina Orellana Cordova, peacefully departed this life surrounded by family and friends. Beloved wife of the late Genaro Cordova; mother of Antonio Cordova, Victoria Cordova Amaya, Maria Faustina Cordova, Isabel Cordova Lara, Berardo Cordova, Rosa Ramira Collins, Jose Justino Cordova, Angela Lara, Francisco Cordova, and five other children that preceded her in death; grandmother of 19, great-grandmother of 22; and great-great grandmother of two; also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, December 21 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, December 22, 2014 at the Shrine of Sacred Heart, 3225 Sacred Heart Way, NW, Washington, D.C. at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Washington, DC. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, Inc., 9500 Arena Dr. # 250, Largo, MD 20774.
