Barbara Adelman - Obituary

arbara Marie Adelman “Nanny”, 72, a 40-year resident of Edgewater, died May 2 at the Heritage Harbour Health and Rehabilitation Center in Annapolis. She was born June 19, 1938 in Washington, DC and graduated from high school in Northern Virginia. Barbara was a career homemaker, devoting herself to her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. Barbara is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert Adelman; two sons, Richard and Frederick John “Ricky” Adelman, both of Edgewater; a daughter, Theresa Marie McKelvey of Cumming, GA; two brothers, Richard Coffren of Wisconsin and Scott Lowdermilk of Wyoming; two sisters, Dolores Louise Budd of Leesburg, FL and Kathryn Lee of North Carolina; seven grandsons, Michael Adelman of Owings Mills, MD, Matthew Adelman of Annapolis, Robert Adelman of Massachusetts, Nick, Cody and Kyle McKelvey of Cumming, GA and Tony Schutte of Edgewater; a granddaughter, Kimberly Guy of Glen Burnie; and two great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to Barbara’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater on Thursday, May 5, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 6, at 10 a.m. at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD.
